Directions from London:
◦ take M40 out of London and come off at Junction 8 – a dual carriageway signed to Oxford.
◦ Follow the dual carriageway from M40 for about 15 mins until you reach the Headington roundabout.
◦ Go straight over roundabout towards City Centre avoid two outside lanes at roundabout which take you onto the Ring Road west.
◦ Follow main road into Oxford for about 10 mins past Headington shops, then Oxford Brookes University on left, and then down steep hill with footbridge over it.
◦ At bottom of hill, go straight over two sets of traffic lights and then to a roundabout with a clocktower in middle - take 4th exit from roundabout more or less straight on still heading for City Centre.
◦ You cross over Magdalen Bridge – stay in left hand lane and go straight over traffic lights and up the High Street. TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS APPLY – WHICH MEAN YOU CANNOT ENTER THE HIGH STREET UNTIL AFTER 6.30PM.
◦ Continue up the High street – when you pass Oddbins on the left, the venue is another 200 yds up High St. on left. It is down an alleyway next to Starbucks you cannot see the venue from the High street.
Unloading for musicians: After 6.30pm, you can park and unload in the bay opposite the venue but if it is full then we advise going back down the High Street – about 50 yards down from the venue on the right is a Nat West bank; just before it is Bear Lane, a small cobbled street – turn into it and at the bottom turn right at the Bear pub, just after, park up on the double yellow lines. The venue is up the alleway beyond a wine bar.
Parking: Very limited but free parking is available in the High Street after 6.30pm in designated bays. On the opposite side of the road from the venue (and Starbucks) is parking for about eight cars. If that bay is full, there are other bays to the right back down the High Street on both sides of the road. Continuing the other way you turn left into St Aldtes where you can find more parking. If you don't have any joy with these, we suggest using the Westgate Car Park which is signed off to the right at the bottom of St Aldates into Thames Street.
Map links You can get directions to The Spin from Google Maps. You may also find Google Street View helpful, it shows the alley to the The Spin @ Wheatsheaf between Starbucks and Northern Rock.
