Kelvin Christiane

A Jazzman palpably straining at the leash - one to watch.

John Fordham, The Guardian.

Kelvin Christiane is one of the few saxophonists on the scene able to play two saxes at once and make it sound great.  Kelvin however has much more to his playing than an unfeasibly wide mouth. He has released 12 albums, with many of his own compositions and performs at concert arenas all over the world. The latest CD ‘Piper at the Pearly Gates’ 2006 (with Mark Nightingale on trombone) was described as “a band of astonishing virtuosity…” Humphrey Lyttleton’s ‘Best of Jazz’ and Kelvin’s virtuosity can be heard on as diverse a discography as you could hope to hear.

A graduate from the Leeds College of Music he has played with artists such as Bernard ‘Pretty’ Purdie, Pucho & the Latin Soul Bros, Jim Mullen, Gilad Atzmon, Alan Barnes, Don Weller, Bob Martin, Roland Perrins’ Blue Planet Orchestra, Dave O'Higgins, Derek Nash, Steve Waterman, Peter King, Alex Garnett, John Etheridge, Dave Cliff. Kelvin performs regularly at the major festivals in the UK and Europe which has included Nice and Montauban, France.
