Directions from London: - take M40 out of London and come off at J8 – a dual carriageway signed to Oxford.
- Follow the dual carriageway from M40 for about 15 mins until you reach the Headington roundabout Multimap link below shows route to The Spin from this point.
- Go straight over roundabout towards City Centre avoid 2 outside lanes at roundabout which take you onto the Ring Road west.
- Follow main road into Oxford for about 10 mins past Headington shops, then Oxford Brookes University on left, and then down steep hill with footbridge over it.
- At bottom of hill, go straight over 2 sets of traffic lights and then to a roundabout with a clocktower in middle - take 4th exit from roundabout more or less straight on still heading for City Centre.
- You cross over Magdalen Bridge – stay in left hand lane and go straight over traffic lights and up the High Street. PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU CAN ONLY ENTER THE HIGH STREET AFTER 6.30PM.
- Continue up the High street – when you pass Oddbins on the left, the venue is another 200 yds up High St. on left. It is down an alleyway next to Starbucks you cannot see the venue from the High street.
Parking: After 6.30pm, parking in the High Street in the designated bays is free. On the other side of the road from the venue (and Starbucks) there is a parking bay for about 8 cars which is available from . If that bay is full, there are other bays back down the High Street on both sides of the road. It is hard to do a U turn in the High Street so if you do need to go back down, we advise continuing up to the top of the High Street and following the road round to the left - go down this road for a while (where more parking is available on single yellow lines after 6.30pm) and you should find it easy to do a U-turn and then come back up. If parking is not available in the High Street, we suggest using the Westgate Car Park which has a map link below. Map links Getting from Headington Roundabout, Oxford to The Spin. Click here Getting from The Spin to the Westgate Car Park. Click here Unloading for musicians: After 6.30pm, you can unload in the bay opposite the venue but if it is full then we advise going back down the High Street – about 50 yards down from the venue on the right is a Nat West bank; there is a small cobbled street just before it – turn right into this street – at the bottom of this is a T junction with the Bear pub on the right side – turn right at the pub and park up on the double yellow lines. The venue is up the alleway beyond a wine bar. |
